We work very closely with you (or your designer*) to assure that your design is perfectly suited for the letterpress. We're fans of Exquisite Typography (of course) and spend plenty of time with our noses close to the pages of the amazing 16th Century books in our collection. We're also making use of imagery found in these sources, many of which are simply not available anywhere else (unless you happen to be the Chief Librarian in Madrid, or something!)

Speaking of typography, we do take it very seriously, as the elegance of a calling card or personal stationery depends on very subtle and imperceptible arrangement of letters.

We live in the best of both worlds, seeking the very finest in digital type to complement the wonderful vintage wood-type and metal foundry type in our collections. Where many  letterpress shops of recent vintage have never seen 'real' type, we live it every day! For that matter, we also design our own type!

Peter Fraterdeus, our design director, is also founder of Alphabets Fonts (www.alphabets.com). We can even make type from ancient books (and we are!)
